Darkroom Beginner’s Workshop, 1st November 2008

Continuing our beginners darkroom workshops, we have added another date in 2008 which is now available for booking. We will teach you the basics of making a Black & White Print Enlargement from your negatives. No previous Darkroom experience is required and this workshop would also benefit someone who has not been in the Darkroom for a long period and who wishes to get a revision course. All materials and full workshop notes are provided.

This one day workshop includes the following:

-How to develop a roll of Black & White film.

-Making proper contact sheets (proof sheets) from your rolls of film.

-Assessing the contact sheet and selecting negatives for enlargement.

-Making a print using various dodging and burning techniques.

-Safe-light test. How to test that your safe light is not fogging your paper.

-Advise on the purchasing of darkroom equipment and the setting up of home Darkrooms.

At the end of this workshop, each participant will have the knowledge to develop their film and make prints on Resin Coated photographic paper. This is a fun day of hands-on experience and is not overly technical.
